                                             Pt3   I Will Not Let My Church Be About Me

                                                            Mark 9  &  Philippians 2:5-11

Statement…

                                  If we’re Saved Jesus Calls US to Be Different!

Servant of All…

   1. The Word…”Servant” occurs 57 times in the New Testament.

   2. The word “Serve” occurs 58 times in the New Testament.

                DO You GET IT???  

                      - Serving is important in the Word of God!

                        Jesus said we must be Last of All…AND…Servant of All!

 Statements…

  #1… We will never find Joy in church membership when we are constantly

                     seeking things our way.

  #2… But…paradoxically, we will find the Greatest Joy when we choose  to be last.

  #3… True Joy means… giving up our rights & preferences and serving  everyone else.

                             And that’s what Church Membership means as well

 The Mind of Christ… Philippians 2:5-11

                           Paul said…”Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus”

What did Jesus Do?

         · He “did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage.”

         · “He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave.”

         · “He humbled Himself.”

         · He became “obedient to the point of death – even to death on the cross.”

Keep in mind… Philippians 2

          · We are to be Servants.

          · We are to be Obedient’

          · We are to put others first.

          · We do whatever it takes to keep unity in our church.

           Always ask first what can I do to Serve the Bride of Christ…The Church
