Hi, I’m Dave Trimble and I have the privilege to serve as Pastor here at First Baptist Church New Haven. I’m currently 56 years old and have been married to my wife, Barbara (a dental hygienist) for 36 wonderful years. The Lord has blessed us with three precious girls.  Our daughter Becky is a trained elementary teacher now serving as a full-time Mom & Pastors wife. Becky’s husband Kiel Nunn is a Pastor serving  in a church near Cleveland, Ohio. Sherry, our middle daughter, is an Elementary Teacher &  Volleyball Coach and lives in Kennesaw, GA. outside Atlanta. Carrie, our 3rd daughter, works as a Heart Critical Care Nurse and she also  lives in Kennesaw, GA.

As a boy, I was blessed by the Lord to be raised in a godly, loving, Christian home involved faithfully in church from the nursery on until now.  On my eighth birthday, which was on a Sunday, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart during the preaching service and I realized for the first time that I was a sinner and was responsible for my sin.  I went forward to repent and receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and was baptized that night. I’ve never regretted this decision that literally changed my life forever!

In my senior year of high school I really began seeking God’s direction  for my life, and felt God’s call into full time Christian Service, specifically in the area of music ministry.  The Lord opened up many doors and I went to Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY.  Cumberland is a Southern Baptist college affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention.  While at Cumberland, I served in my first ministry position at 1st Baptist Lake City, TN as Minister of Music for two years.
Barb and I were married in March of 1976, right before I finished college with a Bachelor of Church Music Degree.  We then moved onto Louisville, KY to The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where I spent five years working on two master’s degrees – Masters of Church Music and Masters of Religious Education and served as Minister of Music/Youth at Fisherville Baptist Church.

In May of 1981, I finally graduated and finished my career as a student.  Barb and I had been praying for a full-time place of service.  Specifically, we asked God to send us to a church that we could plant our lives and family and stay there. We asked the Lord to send us to a church not tied down to tradition, but with a pastor dedicated to preaching God’s word, staying and growing a great church. On June 28, 1981 we began serving at Sunnycrest Baptist Church (Marion, IN) as Associate Pastor / Music, Youth, Recreation and Education.  God answered our prayers in an incredible way! Allowing us 26 years of service to the Lord at Sunnycrest, and all I can say is, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow!” Well, in September of 2007 God simply said “it was time to go”. In January of 2008, God called me to preach His Word and pastor.
So Barb & I started a new adventure serving the Lord together.

The Lord led us here to New Haven in April of 2008 to First Baptist Church, a special body of 30 believers, who desired to “Attempt Great Things For God so that New Haven may Know Christ”! Our prayer has been, “Lord, please don’t pass us by” let us reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ! God has blessed and allowed us the privilege over the past almost four years to reach & disciple a good number of folks, and FBC New Haven has grown to average over 100 in worship. Our main goal is to Love the Word & Love People!

We invite you to Come Grow with US!
